Ostella to Race with TRG at Lime Rock

Lakeville, Conn. (July 3, 2013)–David Ostella will switch gears this weekend and head east to Lime Rock Park for the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) Northeast Grand Prix. Driving for The Racer’s Group (TRG) in GTC class action, Ostella is grateful for the opportunity.

“I’m definitely excited to be driving in this race,” Ostella said. “I want to thank TRG for giving me the opportunity and thinking of me as a driver for them this weekend.”

The 21-year-old, who won the ALMS race in the PC class at Sebring International Raceway earlier this season, is excited to drive this weekend’s race in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, which he is very familiar with as he is currently the points leader in the GT3 Cup Challenge Series in Canada.

“It’s definitely a bonus driving a car that’s very similar to what I’m used to racing in the [Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin Series],” Ostella said. “I won’t have to get used to a completely new car like I did when I drove in the PC class in Sebring. Being a last minute decision, it will be a benefit that I’ve driven a Porsche car already because I know how the sequential shifting works, how the brakes are and what the dimensions of the car are like.”

Driving the No. 68 TRG entry, Ostella will compete against seven other cars in the GTC class.

“The track is a little tighter than Sebring,” he said. “It’s been a long time since I’ve driven at Lime Rock, so it will be a good experience for me to learn the track, be in the car and have a professional driver to learn from. To see how he goes through the corners and what his take is on driving the Porsche car will only be beneficial. TRG has won this race many times, they have a great car, and hopefully we do well.”

The 2 hour and 45-minute race will air live on ESPN2 on Saturday, July 6 at 3 p.m. ET. For the latest news regarding Ostella, follow @OstellaCorsa on Twitter.
