INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 27, 2012) – Second-year Firestone Indy Lights driver David Ostella enters 2012 surrounded by new faces, a new team and new opportunities. A year removed from a strong ninth-place finish as a rookie in North America’s premier open-wheel development series, the 20-year-old driver from Maple, Ontario has his eyes firmly fixed on being a permanent presence at the front of the Indy Lights grid.

He is not alone in his expectations. Team Moore Racing (TMR), who will field the young Canadian in the 2012 season, is a series stalwart just two years removed from a runner-up finish in the Indy Lights championship. A year ago, TMR scored two race wins, firmly placing the young team among the strongest, most established outfits in the series. Already with multiple days of testing under their collective belts, Ostella and TMR have begun the critical process of developing a winning chemistry between driver and team.

“The team was great during our first tests,” said Ostella. “We did a lot of setup changes and got through quite a bit for our initial test days. The team works great together, and I can’t wait for the first race in St. Pete. The testing process has been productive and enjoyable, and I’m excited for the beginning of the season.”

Also new in 2012 is the way fans of the Canadian hotshoe can follow his progress on track. The re-launched DavidOstella.com puts Ostella at the cutting edge of driver/fan interaction. The site is a resource for the latest David Ostella news, imagery, and social media activity.

While much in Ostella’s world is new for 2012, what has not changed is his drive to compete and succeed. With a year of experience to draw upon and a proven team behind him, Ostella enters 2012 with high expectations, as well as the resources and drive to make them a reality.

The 2012 Firestone Indy Lights season begins on Saturday, March 24 with the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
