October is a month of change. As summer turns to fall and the leaves begin to color David Ostella accepted a big change into his life yesterday, a brand new Porsche 911 Carrera (Type 991). Much like the maple leaf on Canada’s flag stands for accepting change, the Canadian found no difficulties accepting this change.

The Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin driver was awarded the car for being the 2013 Platinum Cup Champion. The 21-year-old will have the pleasure of driving the classic red Porsche for a full year courtesy of Porsche Cars Canada.

“This my first time driving a Porsche 911 Carrera on the road as opposed to racing the GT3 Cup car,” Ostella said.”It handles beautifully and is just an awesome drive. It’s got great power, I couldn’t be happier right now. The Porsche Guards Red is such a classic color for the car and it makes sure everybody can see me!”

Ostella plans on showing off his trophy to all his neighbors and friends, but there will be limits.

“They can see me in it when I’m driving it around town,” laughed Ostella. “It will be parked in my garage, no doubt. I will be taking great care of it. I did let my dad drive it a little on the way home so he has driven the car, but it’s mine. My little sister can have my old car now.”

The iconic sports car will be well taken care of at the Ostella household. It is without doubt that the young driver will be polishing this trophy a little extra in comparison to the rest. He may also be admiring the red of his car a little more than the red maple leaves this autumn.
